LA Noire was said to be the next GTA V of mafia/gangster games. However this turned out far from the truth. Despite having an interesting art style the was really repetitive, boring and nothing innovative.
Ryse: Son of Rome
Ryse: Son of Rome was supposed to be the ultimate Kinect fighting experience however the developers decided to change it last minute to a third person game. It was a decent game but too repetitive and the storyline sucked.
The Order: 1886
The Order 1866 was an interesting concept and many were hyped up for it. After all who would not want to fight in an alternate history Victorian London versus Werewolfs. However the game had techinical problem and had an absolutely awful storyline.
Mafia 3 was an embarrassment for the Mafia series. The game’s graphics turned out to be terrible in fact worse than the original Mafia. The storyline was generic and the campaign was boring and repetitive.
No Man’s Sky
No Man’s Sky is the biggest example of an overhyped game. Some want as far as to call it the next ‘Minecraft’. However teh features were not just bad but half of what was shown in the trailers and promised did not exist the final version of the game. It sold well but players interest died out in 2 weeks. The ending was absolutely worthless too, with the player just getting teleported back to where he started from.
